Recognising Gender Dysphoria / Transsexualism

Symptoms

Those suffering Gender Dysphoria / Transsexualism can sometimes show certain signs at varying ages, click the icons below for more information on how to recognise them.

Professional Diagnosis

To correctly diagnose this condition so that treatments can be administered, the patient should see a medical specialist (normally a Psychiatrist) to ensure that they do in fact suffer Gender Dysphoria / Transsexualism and not a purely Psychological condition.

This Psychiatrist needs to be trained in the understanding of Gender Dysphoria / Transsexualism. If the psychiatrist isn't trained in this understanding he/she may provide a wrong diagnosis which could lead to terrible outcomes.
